HEATH AVAILABLE FOR ROVERS CLASH

29 August 2013

Defender Matt back in the frame

Northampton Town defender Matt Heath is available for Saturday’s trip to Bristol Rovers, news that is welcomed by boss Aidy Boothroyd.

"We are clearly missing our captain (Kelvin Langmead) at the moment but we can't cry over that,” said Boothroyd.

“Matt Heath is back this weekend, Clive Platt is available and Chris Hackett is back and after the Torquay game it might be time to change the personnel, the system or both.

"Chris knows the performance of Danny Emerton last week means he is not guaranteed to play. Danny provided some great balls into the box for the strikers last week and he can be very pleased with his performance. Neither are guaranteed to play on Saturday, it is a decision I have to make.”

A bright spot for the Cobblers in the last few weeks has been the form of striker Jacob Blyth, with two goals in his last 3 games.

"I will talk to Leicester about extending Jacob's loan,” confirmed the Cobblers boss.

“He has done really well and has scored in both home games. He is learning with us and I think the loan spell is working out well for all parties.”
