Plus Heath could feature at Roots Hall
The Cobblers travel to Southend on Saturday with both Clive Platt and Chris Hackett available for selection.
“Clive and Chris both come into the squad,” confirmed boss Aidy Boothroyd.
“Matt Heath is doing really well, he will have a fitness test on Friday morning but it’s looking like Lewis Hornby could be out for around a month.
“Lewis has got an issue with a disc in his back and with him being a young lad and still growing we want to make sure that he is a hundred per cent right.
“The plan from day one this season was to make sure that we had 15 or 16 go to players so that we don’t have to dip into the loan market quite so quickly.
“I’ve got a few decisions to make for Saturday but I’d much rather be in that position because that means you have got competition for places.
“We are probably looking at about November time for Kelvin Langmead and maybe the end of January for Alex Nicholls and if we could have him back for the last ten games then that would be terrific.”
