The views of the Cobblers boss
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was left to reflect on a frustrating afternoon as he looked back on the 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.
"We asked lots of questions of Bristol Rovers today but we didn't get the key decisions that you need to win games," he said.
"We keep being unlucky on one or two things and to be denied three stonewall penalties obviously isn't ideal.
"The players gave their all but a lapse of concentration at the start from both of our full-backs has cost us.
"It was a poor start but we still had 88 minutes to get back into the game and I felt we caused Bristol Rovers some real problems.
"We go into every game to try and win it and we work very hard to try and do that.
"We want to be in and around it and at the minute we certainly aren't getting the decisions and that little bit of luck that you need.
"In the main the players are doing what I want them to do and we didn't get what we deserved today.
"We've got the makings of a very good team here when everybody is fit but we have just been on the wrong end of some decisions we didn't agree with.
"Today wasn't our day but it's up to us to lick our wounds and start racking some points up."
