MIXED FEELINGS FOR AIDY

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was pleased with the second half performance but frustrated with the result after the 1-0 Easter Monday defeat at Cheltenham.

"We did everything bar score in the second half," he said.

"Their goal was a lapse in concentration from us which was disappointing but in the second half we rallied and we were much better.

"We created lots of chances but couldn't score and one of the reasons for that was how well Cheltenham defended.

"We've lost a game that we shouldn't have done but we have to look at ourselves as we always do and put it right.

"Cheltenham were very nervous early on and it could have gone either way in the first half. We worked hard but we didn't function as well as a team.

"In the second half we limited Cheltenham to one or two counter attacks. We were much better and we won battles all over the pitch and we did everything but score.

"We were strong in every department in the second half but we couldn't get the break through.

"Cheltenham are an excellent team, they defended well for long periods and Mark Yates and his team deserved the victory.

"We've come a very long way but I don't want to settle for the play-offs, I'm a winner and I want to win."
