IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SUPPORTERS

24 April 2013

Please respect the ground regulations

Northampton Town fans will be aware of the flare that was thrown on the pitch at Port Vale last weekend. This led to a Northampton Town fan being arrested.

In addition the club has been asked to provide comments to the Football Association about the incident and we are waiting to hear if we will face any sanctions or punishment because of the actions of that supporter.

We must inform all supporters that flares, fireworks and similar objects are prohibited items and must not be brought in to Sixfields. They are highly dangerous and a number of supporters have been seriously injured by such items at matches in the past.

Anyone attempting to bring such an item in to Sixfields will be refused entry and could face arrest.

The throwing of any object is a breach of ground regulations and is an offence under Football (Offences) Act 1991. Banning orders for any breach of the regulations will be effective immediately, excluding those supporters from the play off games.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all supporters the ground regulations at Sixfields are on display in a number of different locations. You can read them here

Finally we must ask  all supporters to stay off the pitch at the final whistle. Saturday's match does not mark the end of our season, we hope that supporters respect and recognise that and they stay off the pitch at all times. Anyone invading the pitch is again breaching ground regulations and could face arrest, ejection and a possible immediate banning order.
