AIDY PRAISES IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

16 April 2013

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd reflected on the goalless draw at Wycombe.

"It was a very good performance but we just couldn't get the goal," he said.

"We mixed it up well, we looked solid defensively and Luke Guttridge and Lewis Hornby both came back in and did well.

"On another night we could have won 3-0 but we did everything bar score a goal tonight.

"It's very rare that you come away from home and have a team on the back foot as much as we did tonight.

"We created some good chances but their goalkeeper made some decent saves.

"We're not giving up on anything but what we are going to do is try and cement our place in the play-offs.

"We are still chasing third though so we have got to go and try and win at Port Vale.

"The fans were brilliant tonight and I was just disappointed we couldn't send them home with a win.

"I hope our supporters know just how big an effort the players are putting in, we really wanted to win the game tonight but it just wasn't to be.

"We've got to where we are because of hard work and belief and we've got to keep that going."
