The views of the Cobblers boss
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was pleased with the performance of his team in the 2-2 draw at Port Vale.
"It was a great performance and but for a freak own goal we would have won the game," he said.
"We should have won the game but what we've done today is experience playing in front of a big crowd and we are going to need to perform at that level in the play-offs.
"David Moyo was outstanding and I thought we were a constant threat.
"Roy's goal was magnificent and that's the sort of goal that he is capable of.
"I'm really pleased to be in the play-offs and I can't wait.
"Of course we would have liked to have gone up automatically but to get to this position has been a great achievement by everybody at the football club.
"I'd like to congratulate Port Vale, they have deservedly been promoted and it's a great achievement by Micky Adams and his team.
"We've got a squad that is together, we've had a little wobble but we've stood together and everybody has played their part.
"There is only one reason you want to be in the play-offs and that is to win them.
"We will prepare properly, we've got some momentum going again now and we want to keep that going against Barnet."
