Cobblers boss previews trip to Wycombe
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Tuesday night’s trip to Wycombe.
“I’m expecting a very tough game but we’ve got to bounce back, we’ve done it before and we will do it again,” he said.
“Wycombe have got some good players and I know that on their day they are a very good team who can give us problems.
“Saturday was a bad day at the office but I don’t want to harp on about it because I genuinely believe that we have done well this season.
“As I’ve said all along it is important not to get too excited when you win and certainly make sure that you remain calm when a couple of results don’t go for you.
“We want to win every game, of course we do, and we’ve come to expect that at home which is a really big pat on the back to all the players and all the staff.
“On Saturday we didn’t perform as a team and we didn’t get to the high standards that we’ve got to this season. That happens and there are many reasons for that but you’ve got to look at the big picture and 30 points out of 33 at home isn’t bad.
“We’ve not scored for three games but we are creating chances so I know that will turn.
“I think we do have to change a couple of little things but as I’ve said before, win, lose or draw you have got to be very analytical about it.
“You need to focus on the things that have got you success, what’s going to get you more success and what’s going to stop you getting success.
“We know what those things are and we’ve got to make sure that we apply those things in the next few games.”
