Pre match thoughts from the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Saturday’s trip to play-off hopefuls Bradford City.

“Both teams will be going out to win, we’ve played each other three times already this season so both teams know each other inside out,” he said.

“We haven’t beaten them yet and if there is a good time to get a result against Bradford then it would be this weekend.

“Bradford are at home and I think they will go for it anyway. They need to win to maintain their run for the play-offs but we’ve got to win to maintain our push for automatic promotion.

“It’s a game they have to win and it’s a game that we want to win.

“I think it’s going to go all the way to the Barnet game, to be where we are with five games to go we’d have all taken that but the nature of all of us is that we want more and you can always do better.

“It was obviously a disappointing result at Cheltenham but I think it is a little wake up call for us. In the second half we were terrific and if we keep playing like that then we are going to be successful.

“There were lots of positives for us to take from the game on Monday, there are a number of reasons why we didn’t win away in the early part of the season but I think now we are absolutely heading in the right direction.”
