STANAIR CUP WINNERS RECEIVE COACHING

14 September 2012

Aidy Boothroyd delivers prize

Tuesday September 11th saw the culmination of the 2011/12 Stanair Cup, as under-9 winners Towcester Primary and under-10 winners Brackley Town, took to the Sixfields pitch for a training session with Northampton Town manager Aidy Boothroyd.

The session was their prize for winning through four rounds of the penalty shoot out competition held at half-time at Cobblers' games.

Brackley Town beat Kislingbury, Thorplands United, Towcester Primary (under-10), and Boothville Primary to win the under-10 event. Towcester Primary meanwhile overcame Wooldale Blue, Moulton Magpies, Bilton Ajax and Kislingbury to triumph in the under-9s.

After the training session, Brackley Town manager Dave Boynton emailed in to say:
"Just a note to thank you for organising the session with Aidy for Brackley Town U10 squad. The players loved it and it was a lot more than most of us expected with use of the changing rooms, dugouts and even tea!

“Looking forward to this year's competition, it's given those involved a real incentive to do well. Can you pass on our thanks to the manager."

Aidy Boothroyd said, “I really enjoyed coaching the youngsters. They were all really enthusiastic and a pleasure to coach. They had a very special experience and I hope they enjoyed it. I wish both Towcester and Brackley every success for the season ahead.”

Martin Wall from Stanair Industrial Door Services, sponsors of the Cup said, "As a business which is committed to Northamptonshire we are delighted to be part of this exciting competition. It provides excitement for local youngsters and gives them the chance that they would never have had otherwise, a chance for an amazing training session with Aidy Boothroyd. Well done Towcester Primary and Brackley Town.”

The club would like to put on record their thanks to Stanair for making the event, which encouraged over 1500 people to come to games last season, possible. For more information about Stanair's industrial door services, please visit www.stanair.co.uk.
