Keeper plays in reserve team work out
Shane Higgs played his first 90 minutes since early January as a young Northampton Town reserve side were beaten 2-1 by Peterborough United in a behind closed doors practice match at Sixfields on Tuesday afternoon.
Aside from Higgs, the only players in the Cobblers side with first team experience were Lewis Wilson, Anthony Charles, Louis Moult and Henoc Mukendi while the Posh included Joe Day, Scott Griffiths, Lee Frecklington, Emile Sinclair and Daniel Kearns.
The Posh won 2-1, thanks to a 22nd minute goal from Jonson Clarke-Harris and a penalty on the stroke of half time from Lee Frecklington. The Cobblers scored five minutes after the break through Louis Moult, but the main news was the further progress of Higgs as he continues his comeback from long term injury.
