Boothroyd previews seaside trip
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Saturday’s trip to league newcomers Fleetwood Town.“Fleetwood are very strong and they are here to mean business,” he said.
“They are not in this division to make up the numbers and I think they will want to get up again.
“If you look at their recruitment they are looking at players who have played in the Championship and League One so there in it to be successful just like we are.
“I think it’s a massive test for us away from home, they had a great win at Morecambe and they have got players in their team who can hurt any opposition so we have to make sure that we are at our best to get something from the game.
“I thought it was a very good win against Wimbledon and having watched the game again I thought we played very well.
“We were strong and we could have won the game by more goals.
“No team is going to come here and make it easy for us and that game was a big step forward for me.
“I’m sure there will be irritation and frustration from some supporters because we don’t dominate teams from the start but that is never going to happen.
“The opposition is always going to have some part in the game and I think it’s a huge complement to us that teams are coming here with a defensive mind set.
“Southend and Wimbledon came here to stop us playing and that is a big pat on the back for us because when I came here teams were coming here to see how many goals they could get.”
