Club create guide for new fans
The club have created a new guide for fans coming to their first ever game, called 'Welcome To The Family', which is being printed by the club's partners, Weatherbys.
The guide, which can be seen here, is designed to explain the things which regular fans may take for granted, but which could seem alien to those unused to attending live football matches. It covers everything from how to get the ground and what to do in and around Sixfields, to the club's songs and history.
It is part of the clubs continued marketing strategy, which has seen attendances rise for the last two seasons despite having dramatically reduced the number of complimentary tickets which are given away, and falling attendances across the rest of the league as a whole.
"We do a lot to get people to attend games, to make sure that they pay and aren't just receiving free tickets, and have a good time regardless of what happens on the pitch by offering an extra matchday experience such as the Stanair Cup or County Engravers pre-match 5-a-side competitions," said Joss Sheldon.
"What we are working on now, is a mechanism to make sure that these people don't just see their trip as a one off, but get into the habit of attending regularly. The new welcome booklet will help to make people feel welcome from the start, and we plan to phone every new fan after their first game to encourage them back too."
