Town youngsters overcome Chesterfield
Northampton Town's youth team won 3-0 at Chesterfield in the first round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night.
In front of watching first team manager Aidy Boothroyd, the Cobblers raced into their three goal lead by half time, with goals from Ivan Toney (2) and David Moyo.
"It was a very good team performance," said Youth Coach Craig Hinton.
""We did really well both individually and collectively. The confidence in the under 18s is growing and we need to keep building on that.
"It was a strong performance and we deserved our win."
The Cobblers face a home tie against Chester or York City in round 2.
