Important information ahead of Tuesday and Saturday
A footbridge in Northampton has been closed after the Environment Agency found the structure to be unsafe.
It is part of a footpath that runs from Hunsbury Hill Avenue, Northampton, towards the canal and river and then on to Sixfields football stadium.
The footbridge was closed on Friday 5 October 2012 after a routine inspection by officers found that it was not safe.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “The bridge was not structurally safe and needed to be closed immediately.
“We hope to find a permanent solution to the issue in the new year, and are exploring potential options to help access in the interim period.
“We are aware that this is a route used to get to Sixfields Stadium and hope that the temporary loss of access does not cause too much of an inconvenience.”
