AIDY WARY OF BARNET TEST

18 October 2012

Cobblers boss expecting tough Friday night examination

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd previews Friday night’s trip to Barnet, a game you can only hear live on Cobblers Player, which kicks off at 8pm.

“Some of the things I saw on Saturday really excited me but we are still not where I want us to be and we need to keep getting better,” he said.

“I don’t think we are anywhere near where we can be but what we are doing is getting better and there is progress.

“Barnet have played well in some of their games and probably think they should have had more out of them.

“Every game is tough and I know and the players know that if we are at our best then we can get a positive result.

“We know that if we don’t respect our opponents we will get turned over so we’ve got to make sure that we are right.

“Bayo and Clive Platt both did very well against Exeter, they didn’t quite click into gear but the team is a little bit like that at the minute as well.

“That’s probably because of the changes we have had to make to the team but providing we can stay with the pack then I think that fluidity will come.

“Lee Nicholls loan is up at the end of the month and hopefully we will have something positive to announce on that soon.

“We are grateful to all the teams that have loaned us players, it’s a good learning environment for them here and when they do eventually go back to there parent clubs I’m sure they will go back better players.”
