AB: 'WE HAVE TO DIG IN AND BE STRONG'

6 October 2012

The views of the Cobblers boss

obblers boss Aidy Boothroyd on Anthony Charles sending off and the 3-1 reverse at Bristol Rovers.

"Anthony got caught and he gave the referee a decision to make," he said.

"Sometimes in those situations you see the referee give a yellow card but sometimes you see a red card given and unfortunately for us today it was the latter.

"We had to re-group after that which we did but unfortunately for us we conceded some poor goals.

"We felt going into the game that this was a game we could win but what we didn't do is frustrate Bristol enough.

"In saying that we still had three terrific chances from close range of which we only scored one.

"Danny East going off injured was unfortunate, his shoulder hasn't totally come out but there is a bit of swelling around the collarbone so whether or not he will be fit for Tuesday I don't know.

"In whatever job you do you have got two choices you can either wallow or you can take responsibility.

"We won't be feeling sorry for ourselves, we've got two games this week and we'll be looking to bounce back quickly and respond in the right manner.

"What we've got to do is try and ride out this period and keep ourselves in the pack until we get everybody back.

"We should be bringing in another player on Monday and I think he will definitely improve us and give everybody a lift.

"What I am convinced about is that luck does turn, we are having a bad run of injuries but these things happen and you have just got to get on with it.

"In a period of adversity you have to dig in and be strong and that's what we will do."
