The fit again Chris Hackett and John Johnson both came back into the Cobblers side while Shane Higgs started in goal. Louis Moult partnered Adebayo Akinfenwa in attack.

Joe Widdowson provided a cross for Akinfenwa in the Cobblers first chance of the afternoon but the striker’s header was saved by former Town loanee Matt Duke.

With the Cobblers enjoying a good spell of pressure, Duke did well to block a header from Louis Moult and he then tipped a drive from Hackett around the post.

Bradford took the lead on 32 minutes, Will Atkinson firing home right-footed after being played in by Alan Connell.

The Cobblers came close to a leveller on the stroke of half time, but Akinfenwa's header from Hackett free kick was blocked at point blank range.

Matt Duke tipped over a header from Louis Moult at the start of the second half as the Cobblers looked to level thins up. Akinfenwa then found the side netting as Aidy Boothroyd’s side continued to press.

Moult equalised on 61 minutes, rising well to head home a superb cross from Danny East.

The Cobblers made a change on 72 minutes, youth team striker David Moyo coming on for Anthony Charles.

Duke denied Akinfenwa before Nahki Wells and James Hanson both came on for the Bantams. Clive Platt then replaced Moult.

Neither side could find a late winner as the FA Cup first round tie headed for a replay at Valley Parade.
