GAFFER LOOKING TO GIVE LEWIS GAMES

22 November 2012

Aidy makes Wilson available for loan

Aidy Boothroyd has no fresh injuries to contend with ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Oxford United.

“We are okay and the only thing we have had to contend with is not being able to train on the grass because of the wet weather,” he said.

“That’s no bad thing though and the players just went in the pool on Thursday instead. We’ve had a lot of games over the last few weeks and it’s important to get the balance of training right.

“The bench I had on Tuesday night was definitely the strongest I’ve had since I’ve been here, I had a lot of options to mix things up and change things around if I needed to.

“The players that are on the pitch from the start know that as well and there is good competition for places at the moment which has definitely given us a boost.

“Ishmel Demontagnac and Jake Robinson have both made the most of their opportunity and Ben Harding coming back from injury has been a big plus as has the addition of Clarke Carlisle.

“It’s the loan deadline on Thursday, I’m not expecting any incomings but we are looking to get Lewis Wilson out on loan so we can get him some football.

“I think he’s been really unfortunate in that because of the injuries we’ve had he’s played in every position apart from his own.

“When he did play up front last season he scored and he’s at a stage now where he needs to get some games in.”
