Squad taking part in charity fundraising

Danny leads the way for Movember

Joining thousands of others across the country in growing a moustache for the whole of November are the Cobblers squad. All in aid of raising awareness of men’s health issues as part of the Movember charity, and this is a subject close to Danny East’s heart.

“I have had a little scare myself and footballers I have played with have also suffered from cancer,” explains Danny.

“A lot of my family have also been affected by cancer so taking part for me was a no-brainer."

As well as Danny, the entire squad and staff are getting involved with the charity, with fines being handed out to anyone who shaves this month.

It is all for a great cause, and is in conjunction with our game on the 20th November, which is dedicated to the charity. Tickets are priced at just £10 for an adult, £5 for kids and FREE for under 7’s, with 40% of each ticket sale going to the Movember appeal!  You can buy on-line here.

We would love it if you could join us in supporting this charity, and you can do this in a number of ways. You can sign up to the Movember page and join our team at to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. You can also get in touch with us via our Facebook and Twitter pages to show us the progress of your mo and interact with us to create a buzz about the game.

Growing their mo’s and getting involved with the charity has already got the players talking: “There’s a lot of banter about Movember and it’s fun. It will be interesting to see who can grow a good moustache and who can’t,” said Danny.

He added “The banter has started already. I think my moustache will grow quite a bit!"

Danny has also said that he will shave all of his hair off if we manage to raise £1000, so there’s an added incentive to get donating and come to the game!
