AIDY PRAISES 'RESOLVE AND CHARACTER'

6 November 2012

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was delighted with the display of his side in the 1-1 draw at York.

"It was a wonderful second half performance," he said.

"We decided to go for it to try and win the game and we were the better team in the second half and we had the better chances.

"To a man the team were terrific but I thought both Chris Hackett and Lewis Hornby when he came on were both absolutely outstanding.

"Unfortunately we've lost Jonno to an injury and we will have to get that assessed because it's the same knee as before but everybody put their body on the line for us tonight.

"There was no doubt it was a sending off, Louis Moult has got an edge to him which all good strikers have got but sometimes when you are a young man it spills over a little bit.

"It was a little bit of frustration and he deserved to go.

"It's the third time we've had a player sent off away from home and our away record does need to improve but I thought tonight we showed great resolve and character.

"We've managed to dig out a very good result against a good York side and tonight I think we showed we've come a long way in a very short space of time."
