The views of the Cobblers boss
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was a happy man after the 3-0 win against Morecambe.
“We’ve shown good spirit again tonight and we’ve found a way to win,” he said.
“It was certainly hard work and sometimes you have to be patient in order to win a game.
“Morecambe came with a game plan to stop us playing, I think we should take that as a pat on the back and we might need to get used to teams coming here and doing that.
“We had to up our game in the second half but once we got the first goal I thought we commanded the second half.
“Ben Tozer’s throw is so difficult to defend against and we’ve got to keep making good use of it. I’m really pleased with Ben, he can play in so many different positions and again tonight he’s stood up and done what I’ve asked of him.
“He doesn’t always get the credit he deserves but he is a real player’s player.
“We can score and create goals in lots of different ways, Chris Hackett was excellent again and he is on great form at the moment.
“We can certainly improve on our defensive play, we are on a nice little roll at the minute but what we can’t afford to do is get complacent.
“The more we can play and the more games we can win I think the more relaxed we will be.
“It’s nice to have aspirations, we are one point off the play-offs and three off automatic but we know that if you get too excited the god of football has a habit of kicking you down.
“We’ve got a good local derby up next and the challenge now is to go to Oxford and come away with something.
“I’d love to see more fans here, we are heading in the right direction as a club and I’d really love to see this place packed.”
