Aidy stresses importance of Wycombe clash
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd has stressed the importance of Saturday’s home clash against Wycombe Wanderers.
“I think this is our biggest game of the season,” he said.
“The team have teased me and the supporters with three fantastic performances in a week and now we need to get that consistency because that is the difference between a successful team and an unsuccessful team.
“Saturday is a massive game for us and we have got to go all out for the three points.
“We need to maintain and cement the points we’ve picked up on the road in the last week otherwise the work that we’ve done becomes hollow.
“These two home games are really big games for us and this period from now until January is going to be critical in terms of sorting the league out.
“It’s very tight at the moment which is why the next few games are going to be massive for us.
“We need to be as strong as we can and as consistent as we can and we need to make sure that we keep building on the progress that has been made.
“It’s been a good week for us performance wise and we’ve had a good return in terms of points in our league games.
“It was a really good performance from a very young team at Bradford, yes we should have won the game and conceding a goal in the last minute was a real blow but there were a lot of plusses for us on Tuesday night.
“I’m really pleased with the performances and the attitude of all the players so far, we’ve come a long way and I want to make sure that we don’t waste good results and that we are consistent in picking up points.”
