CYCLE 4 CYNTHIA

9 July 2012

Cobblers fans asked to support event

Cycle4Cynthia, Northamptonshire’s largest charity cycling event, is calling upon Cobblers fans to help make this year’s ninth annual ride even better!

The event, which raises money for the Friends of Cynthia Spencer Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support in the county, is again taking place at Althorp on Sunday 23rd September.

The 2011 event raised £47,000 in sponsorship for the two causes but it’s hoped that C4C 2012 can top the £50,000 mark – so support from Sixfields is key to its success.

This year, The Earl Spencer is very kindly allowing the event to start and finish from his front lawn," Last year my wife opened the ride with the cyclists setting off from the West Gate,” explained the Earl “and it was quite a spectacle, watching them pedal off down the driveway and past the house. We are so committed to this cause and want this year’s ride to be even better in support of these two amazing charities and hopefully the move to open and complete the ride right in front of the house will encourage even more cyclists to take part.”

There’s also an added incentive for the county’s business to get involved with Lord Spencer also kindly donating a free drinks reception at Althorp for the largest corporate team from Northamptonshire to take part.

Cycle4Cynthia riders will be able to choose from a 5, 25 or 50 mile route, with the first ride leaving Althorp at 9am.

Entry to the event is £15 for adults, £7.50 for children and £30 for families (rising by £5 after 9th September). For entry and sponsorship forms please visit www.cycle4cynthia.com or for more details on Earl Spencer’s business challenge, please contact Sue Bownass on 01604 678088.

We look forward to your support!
