AIDY PREVIEWS COGENHOE TEST

25 July 2012

Cobblers boss ready for latest pre-season game

Aidy Boothroyd is expecting another tough test on Wednesday night when the Cobblers make the short trip to take on Coegnhoe United at Compton Park (7.45pm).

"Sometimes a result like the one on Saturday is good," he said.

"We had a chat on Monday and we will learn from the Corby game and we will continue to work hard in what is now our third week of pre season on the things we need to work on.

"Cogenhoe will be another tough game. They will be up for it and will be determined to try and put one over us but we need to learn from Corby and put those lessons into practice.

"We are still looking at players. We currently have Michael Hoganson on trial with us and we have offered him a one year contract.

"He has got a terrific left foot putting in some fantastic crosses into the box. As an 18 year old we may find that he will be of some use to us come November/December time when we may have a few injuries or suspensions. He is not the finished article by any means but he is certainly a good talent and looks good and we are taking a look at him.

"He has been made his offer and we will see where that goes.

"We will also have a trialist goalkeeper in on Wednesday night, with Connor Roberts, who was with Everton, getting his chance. We have allowed Neal Kitson to return to the States for a few days so that gives Connor a chance to impress.

"The game at Cogenhoe will be another tough test, but we want to take a step forward."
