Cobblers boss expecting tough Steel Park examination
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd is looking forward to Saturday’s trip to Corby Town.
“When you play against non-league teams they have always got a point to prove and fight that little bit harder so we are expecting a really difficult game,” he said.
“We worked the players hard in Croatia but in any walk of life you get more out of things if they are enjoyable at the same time.
“The players got plenty out of it, it was all football and gym based and I think the players are feeling the benefits.
“Alex Nicholls and John Johnson are both back in training and the injured lads Ben Harding and Shane Higgs are both making good progress.
“You have got to be quite flexible in pre-season in terms of what you do, we started off in Croatia by giving the players 45 minutes and we will now look to build on that.
“The next few weeks are all about getting ready and by the time we play Cardiff hopefully all of the players will have two or three full 90 minutes under their belt.
“In terms of systems I’ve got a couple of things in mind that I want to see and try out and now is the time that you do work on things like that.”
