Cobblers boss happy with work of the squad

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd has praised the work of the Cobblers squad as the pre-season training camp in Croatia continues.

"We have done 12 sessions out of 16 now so we have broken the back of the week," he said.

"The work rate has been exceptionally high and I am very pleased with the work we have done.

"Now we are moving on to look at some technical and tactical work. We are putting the foundations in, talking about how we are going to play, what we expect of the players and the sort of shape we will be looking at.

"That work will go up a notch when we return home next week, but we have arranged a practice match for Saturday afternoon as a reward for the hard work the players have put in this week. It will just be an extension of training but we will play a local side, just to give the lads the feel of playing in a  game again."
