Cobblers boss preparing for Saturday's game at the league leaders
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd was disappointed to see the Boxing Day game at AFC Wimbledon postponed, but he is now fully focussed on Saturday's game at league leaders Gillingham.
"It was very disappointing. We travelled down Christmas Day and stayed overnight and we didn't see any rain in the time we were at the hotel but the pitch was not playable so there we are," he said.
"We had prepared well, we were ready and we were looking to push on to try and get another good result to continue our Christmas period.
"Every cloud has a silver lining though. There were a few of the lads nursing knocks who might not have played, while Luke Guttridge was set to be in the squad for the first time since recovering from injury and he will have a few more days to prepare.
"On Saturday we are going away from home against the league leaders and it will be a good test for us to see how far we have come.”
