AIDY READY FOR BOXING DAY TEST

24 December 2012

Cobblers boss on the AFC Wimbledon trip

Boss Aidy Boothroyd is preparing well for the Cobblers Boxing Day trip to AFC Wimbledon.

"There are always some dodgy results around this time of year and what we've got to do is make sure that we are at it from the word go at Wimbledon," he said.

"We will make sure that we prepare properly, Saturday was a good day for us all round but there are still lots of things that we can work on and improve upon.

"I've talked all along about being in the pack, Wimbledon are struggling but you can't take anybody lightly and I will never do that.

"Jake Robinson was nowhere near my team at the start of the season but since coming back from his loan spell at Luton he's really picked it up and he's worked really hard.

"I hope all the players know that they have always got a chance with me and Jake has proved that he is capable of scoring a goal and changing a game for us.

"Joe Widdowson has an intramuscular hematoma and so what we've done is to give him a few more days to recover.

"He's our first choice left-back and we just haven't wanted to risk him on the pitches as they are at the moment but he has got a good chance of being available for Boxing Day."
