AIDY SATISFIED WITH DALE DRAW

18 August 2012

The views of the Cobblers boss

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd reflected on the opening day goalless draw at Rochdale.

"I think it's a good point," he said.

"Rochdale are a good side and we are a work in progress.

"We defended well and in order to be successful you have got to be able to dig out a point here and there. Every day has got to be a good defending day.

"We are an unknown quantity at the moment and we've got work to do but it's up to us to keep improving.

"We've learnt a lot of lessons today and the things that we learn we need to put into practice.

"We'll keep getting better and I think the fact that the players are disappointed with a point shows their mentality and what they want to achieve this season.

"All in all we've got a lot to do but it's exciting because we know that we can get better."
