AIDY - 'A LEARNING EXPERIENCE'

6 August 2012

The Cobblers boss on Saturday's loss to Tottenham

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd said his side paid the price for their mistakes in Saturday's game against Spurs.

"Spurs were very good but the goals we conceded were down to three individual errors," he said.

"That's disappointing but we can either work on ironing out all the little floors that we need to or we can change the personnel.

"I'm quite happy to do that if we need to but I just felt on Saturday that we didn't put their goalkeeper under enough pressure.

"We got ourselves into good areas but when it came to it we weren't' clinical enough.

"Even at League Two level you have got to be clinical and as time goes on I think we will get that.

"Every game is a learning experience for us but at the same time I still want to make sure that we are solid and difficult to beat and we have got some work to do defensively.

"We need to get a consistency of understanding and that will come but it takes time.

"Maybe I'm a little bit impatient but that has always been my biggest strength and probably biggest weakness.

"It was good for Bayo to get some minutes under his belt and he will have benefited from that."
