Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Yeovil Town to Moulton College on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division fixture.
The Cobblers were beaten 3-1 but coach Jon Brady felt the scoreline was an unfair reflection on the game.
"We were excellent and I was very proud of the boys," he said.
"We had a very young side out again but I felt we dominated a Yeovil side which was mostly made up of second years.
"We had so many chances in the game but we needed to be more clinical.
"Max Dyche got us back in the game at 1-1 and we were very unfortunate with some refereeing decisions. We missed a penalty and their third goal came right at the end when we were gambling to try and get an equaliser. I think we can consider ourselves very unfortunate not to have taken something from the game."
