The Northampton Town youth team travelled to Gillingham on Tuesday afternoon for their latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture.
A Haydn Price penalty secured a 1-0 win for the Cobblers with coach Jon Brady delighted with his side's attitude following a long journey.
"We played some really good stuff and could have won the game by more goals," he said.
"The traffic meant our journey down took longer than we anticipated and that didn't give us much preparation time.
"We didn't arrive much before kick-off but the boys kept their focus and showed an excellent attitude.
"Haydn took his penalty well and it's good to keep the winning run going."
