YOUTH TEAM OVERCOME PETERBOROUGH TO REACH AREA SEMI-FINALS

EFL Youth Alliance Cup action

27 October 2018

Northampton Town's youth team took on Peterborough United at Moulton College on Saturday in the area quarter final of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.

The Cobblers are now through to the area semi-finals after goals from Jack Daldy (pictured) and Morgan Roberts secured a 2-0 victory.

"It was another determined professional performance from the boys in tough conditions," said under 18s coach Jon Brady.

"The first goal was really well worked playing from the back and a good cross from Joe Jarvis and the second a good header from Morgan, from a Ryan Smith cross.

"It's great to be in the area semi-finals and the boys deserve it."

Next up for the Cobblers youth team is an FA Youth Cup first round tie against King's Lynn Town at the PTS Academy Stadium on Tuesday (30 October), kick-off 7.30pm.

All supporters are welcome with admission prices £3 adults and £1 concessions.

"We'd love as many supporters to come along as possible," said Brady.

"The team has been playing really well in the last few months and it will be great for the boys to play at the PTS in front of the supporters. It's a good opportunity for them and they are all looking forward to it.

"It would be great if all the players involved in our Academy right the way down could come along with their families as well. All our coaches have been working extremely hard and nights like Tuesday are a good reward for all their efforts."
