Northampton Town's youth team travelled to Cambridge United on Saturday for a re-arranged EFL Youth Alliance fixture.

The game ended goalless but coach Jon Brady felt his side were unfortunate not to take all three points.

“We did everything but score a goal,” he said.

“It’s a good solid point away from home but on another day we come away with one or two goals and the three points.

“We hit the inside of the post but it just wouldn’t quite go in for us today.

“We really restricted Cambridge and I’m pleased with the clean sheet but it’s just unfortunate we couldn’t get that goal our performance deserved.”
