The Cobblers continued their pre-season campaign against 2017/18 FA Trophy winners Brackley Town, their last match on English soil before a week-long training camp in Spain.

24 hours after signing for the club, Hakeem Odoffin started the game at right-back.

Shaun McWilliams shot just wide from the edge of the area in the first real sight at goal for the Cobblers. Daniel Powell also went close after some neat interplay between Sam Hoskins and Andy Williams while a Greg Smith header from a Brackley corner was the home side’s best chance in the first half.

With half-time approaching Williams curled a shot just over after a good driving run from Powell.

David Cornell made a good save at the start of the second half and not long after that the Cobblers took the lead, Andy Williams with a cute finish into the bottom corner.

Cornell and McWilliams were the only players not replaced on the hour mark as boss Dean Austin made a host of substitutions to give more game time to the rest of the squad.

Danny Lewis saved a deflected effort from Joe Iaciofano before Camron McWilliams replaced his older brother Shaun in the Cobblers final change of the night.
