Premier League Primary Stars programme

Premier League Primary Stars programmes use the medium of sport to raise pupil standards in literacy, numeracy and PE as well as building resilience, self-esteem and self-confidence.

There are a range of physical activity, pastoral and curriculum-based activities which are all linked to national curriculum objectives.

Activities are used as extension and enrichment to the national curriculum, building on students’ skills and extending them. Fun, interactive, engaging as well as educational; they include ‘Reading and Writing Stars’, Maths Attax, PSHE, 1-1 mentoring and PE. These bespoke programmes aim to meet school development priorities, using PE and school sport and pupil premium funding.

Our community coaches deliver sessions to whole classes, intervention/targeted groups and 1-1. Having a young sporty often male role model in school is ideal to engage children who are under-achieving, disengaged, poor attenders and those with low self-confidence and pastoral issues.

This year our partner schools are: St Gregory's Catholic Primary, Good Shepherd Catholic Primary, Ashton CEVA, Vernon Terrace, Thrapston, Whitehills, Abington Vale, Flore CEVA, Sunnyside Primary Academy, All Saints CEVA, Standens Barn, St Mary’s Catholic primary, Rowan Gate, Kings Meadow, Irchester, Bozeat, Millway, Delapre, Weavers Academy.
