Northampton Town signed former Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Swansea City, Ipswich Town and Bradford City winger Paul Anderson in August 2016. A player of proven pedigree, Anderson started his career at Liverpool, making more than 50 appearances in loan spells for Nottingham Forest and Swansea City. A permanent £250,000 move to Forest followed, and he made over 100 appearances in his stay at the City Ground before moving to Bristol City. After a season at Ashton Gate he moved to Ipswich Town and made more than 70 appearances in two years for the Tractor Boys before signing for Bradford City. During his time at Ipswich he topped the club's 'assists' chart in the 2014/15 season and supporters started a petition to try and keep him at the club!
