The Cobblers signed Bradford City goalkeeper Matt Duke in the summer of 2013. The Sheffield born Duke enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sixfields in 2011/12, playing a big part in helping Northampton Town pull away from the foot of the League 2 table. He was also a key figure in Bradford's run to Capital One Cup final in 2012/13, turning in superb performances in front of millions of TV viewers in the wins over Arsenal and Aston Villa. Duke played in the Premier League in a 7 year stay at Hull City earlier in his career before a switch to Bradford City in August 2011. In two years at Bradford he played 52 games as he battled with Jon McLaughlin for the keeping berth.
