The Cobblers signed Bradford City goalkeeper Matt Duke in the summer of 2013. The Sheffield born Duke enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sixfields in 2011/12, playing a big part in helping Northampton Town pull away from the foot of the League 2 table. He was also a key figure in Bradford's run to Capital One Cup final in 2012/13, turning in superb performances in front of millions of TV viewers in the wins over Arsenal and Aston Villa. Duke played in the Premier League in a 7 year stay at Hull City earlier in his career before a switch to Bradford City in August 2011. In two years at Bradford he played 52 games as he battled with Jon McLaughlin for the keeping berth. Was ever present for the Cobblers in 2013/14.
