Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Luton Town to Moulton College on Saturday for their first Football League Youth Alliance home fixture of the season.

The Cobblers won the game 1-0 with Greg Kaziboni netting the only goal.

"I'm delighted to get our first win of the season and the lads put in a fantastic team performance," reflected Head of Youth Sean Parrish following the victory.

"We were really down to the bare bones in terms of numbers and our keeper went off injured in the first half but credit to the lads they have trained really hard this week and they thoroughly deserved this victory.

"I was a bit disappointed that we were only one goal up at half-time because we created some good chances and we knew that Luton would really come at us in the second half.

"We had to defend for our lives at times in the second half but I'm absolutely delighted with the win and the clean sheet. The players have set their standards now and this is the level we need to perform at every week.

"One of our forwards, Danny Elmes, had to be taken to hospital following a challenge with their goalkeeper and I would just like to say a big thank you to the Luton physio and their staff for all their help following the incident.

"It was an accidental challenge but he has gone to hospital as a precaution and hopefully he will be okay."
