Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Wycombe Wanderers to Moulton College in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup second round on Saturday.

The Cobblers lost the game 2-1 despite a goal from Alex Konstantinou.

"We created some good chances but I was disappointed with the goals we conceded," reflected Head of Youth Geoff Harrop.

"We had some good spells of pressure but when you are on top in a game you need to make that pressure count.

"Their were some excellent individual performances but we gave away two soft goals and you can't afford to do that at any level.

"We can take some positives from the game but there are still a lot of things we need to work on and we need to improve defensively."
