UNDER 18S CLAIM WIN OVER ORIENT

Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Leyton Orient to Moulton College on Saturday in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup.

The Cobblers won the game 4-2 thanks to a Mark Withers brace and goals from Malachi Farquharson and Alex Konstantinou.

"We went a goal down early on which was disappointing and Orient were probably on top at that point," reflected youth team coach Sean Parrish.

"We managed to get a goal back before half-time though and despite going 2-1 down at the start of the second half the lads showed great character to come back and win the game.

"We were very positive in the second half and against a good Leyton Orient side with a lot of pace and the players showed great determination.

"I was really pleased with the players attitude in the second half, we scored some good goals and over the 90 minutes we thoroughly deserved the victory."
