COBBLERS SUFFER NARROW LOSS AT PLAINMOOR

UNDER 18S SUFFER LUTON DEFEAT

Northampton Town's youth team made the short trip to Luton Town on Saturday as they continued their campaign in the Football League Youth Alliance.

The Cobblers lost the game 3-1 with youth team coach Sean Parrish disappointed with his team's quality of play in the final third of the field.

"We took the lead through an own goal created by Wes Emery but we then conceded a sloppy goal just before half-time," he said.

"We started the second half well and had a couple of chances to re-take the lead but I was just a bit disappointed with our final ball and our quality in the final third.

"I couldn't fault the effort of the lads but we need to tighten things up at the back and at the same time we need to work on having that extra little bit of quality you need going forward."
