UNDER 18S SUFFER WYCOMBE DEFEAT

Northampton Town's youth team were in Football League Youth Alliance action on Saturday as they made the trip to Wycombe Wanderers.

The Cobblers lost the game 3-0 with Wycombe netting two of their goals late on.

"I was obviously disappointed with the overall scoreline but I couldn't fault the attitude of the lads," said youth team coach Sean Parrish.

"We gave it a real go in the second half but we perhaps just lacked that little bit of quality in the final third.

"The effort and commitment of the lads was spot on again but we need to be more solid at the back and take our chances when we get them.

"The final scoreline was probably a bit harsh on us with two of their goals coming late on in the game but we have got a busy week coming up so we need to just move on quickly from this result."
