Northampton Town's youth team travelled to Leyton Orient on Saturday as they continued their campaign in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup.

The Cobblers won the game 2-1 with goals from a trialist and Jon Marzetti.

"We were 1-0 up at half-time and we played really well in the first half," said youth team coach Sean Parrish.

"We then conceded a goal from a set play about five minutes into the second half which was disappointing but the lads stuck at it and deserved the win.

"The effort and commitment from the lads was spot on and after we went 2-1 up we had chances to increase our lead.

"Overall though I was really pleased with the lad's performance and it was good to get the win."
