UNDER 18S IN GOALLESS DRAW AT LUTON
Northampton Town's youth team kicked off their Football League Youth Alliance Cup campaign on Saturday with a trip to Luton Town.
The game ended 0-0 and although coach Sean Parrish was pleased with his side's overall performance, he was disappointed they didn't come away with a win.
"The lads did really well and I was just disappointed for them that we didn't come away with a victory," he said.
"We created a host of chances in the game and although they weren't great chances we should have still won the match.
"The overall effort and commitment from the lads was top class but we perhaps just need to improve on our decision making in the final third.
"I was pleased with the clean sheet though, we had to play a keeper from the under 16s and although he didn't really have a lot to do he acquitted himself very well."
