Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Barnet to Moulton College on Saturday for their opening Football League Youth Alliance fixture.

The Cobblers won the game 2-0 thanks to a double from Wes Emery, both goals coming after good work from Joe Benjamin.

"I was very pleased with the result and the performance," said Coach Sean Parrish. "It is always good to start with a win. We could and should have scored more, but I can't be too critical of the lads as their effort and commitment was first class."
