UNDER 18S EDGED OUT BY COLCHESTER
Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Colchester United to Moulton College on Saturday in the Football League Youth Alliance.
Shaun Goodall grabbed a brace for the Cobblers as they twice came from behind before eventually being edged out 3-2.
"Overall I was fairly happy with the way we played but we conceded three goals from set plays which was very disappointing," reflected youth team coach Sean Parrish.
"We showed great character to come from behind twice but ultimately it doesn't matter how good your build up play is it's what happens in the two penalty boxes that counts.
"We had a very young side out though with quite a few under 16s and they will learn from this. Between now and the end of the season a lot of the younger players will get a chance and that will be great experience for them."
