UNDER 18S SEE OFF SOUTHEND
Northampton Town's youth team continued their Football League Youth Alliance campaign on Saturday morning when they welcomed Southend United to Moulton College.
The Cobblers won the game 4-1 with goals from Shaun Goodall and Sam Maude added to by a brace from a trialist.
"The result was probably a fair reflection of the game and I was a bit disappointed that it was only 1-1 at half-time," said youth team coach Sean Parrish.
"We created a lot of chances in the first half and didn't take them but in the second half we continued to play well and took the chances that came our way.
"We showed a really good reaction to going a goal down, the lads are really working hard for each other now and I think the little bit of extra work we have been doing with them is really starting to pay off."
